Ethiopia ~ 2010

Individuals from NABC are preparing to serve the Lord in Ethiopia November 3 - 15, 2010.

This group of 12 people will be working at three orphanages, Hannah's Hope (in Addis Ababa & Awassa) & Bethzatha (in Awassa), as well as working at a Youth Rehabilitation Center (in Addis Ababa). This trip is being organized through All God's Children International. (AGCI)

At the Youth Rehabilitation Center the team plans on helping teach some of residents some sewing skills that they can use to earn a living as well as meeting other needs for the facility. At the orphanages, the team will be doing projects around the buildings as well as playing with and ministering to the children and caretakers. They will also be leading out in a VBS with the kids at the Addis Ababa Hannah's Hope.

Here are some specific ways you can pray

Sept. 1-4: Pray that the team will be completely submitted to God in all the planning that remains.

Sept. 5-11: Pray that the team members and their families will experience God calming all their fears. Pray for good health for the team members and their families.

Sept. 12-18: Pray for the team’s wisdom, as their work project plans are finalized and donations and resources are gathered.

Sept. 19-25: Pray that the team member’s hearts will grow increasingly burdened for the people of Ethiopia. Pray that the hearts of the people they encounter there will be prepared by the Holy Spirit.

Sept.26-October 2: Pray that all team members will trust God’s provision for the work projects

PRAISE REPORT - All of the team members have raised the money necessary for their tickets. The tickets have been purchased. Money raised from this point on will go to cover any other expenses related to the trip such as immunizations, supplies for the team to take with them, supplies for them to purchase in country for the various projects, items that will be taken to support the orphanges and rehabilitation center, etc.

NABC Fundraising Efforts

1.Kids Night Out ~ A night of child care for kids 1 year - 2nd grade and 3rd - 6th grade. From 5-9pm you can drop your child off at NABC and enjoy an evening out. The kids will be supervised by at least two adults per group as well as additional youth helpers. In order to ensure enough supervision and supplies you must reserve a spot for your child in advance. Call the office to reserve your spot. Next date is TBA. Cost is $10 per child for the entire time or $2.50 per hour per child if you choose to not stay for the entire 4 hours.

2. A storefront has been set up at www.justlovecoffee.com/nabc where you can purchase bags of coffee to be delivered directly to your door. Of each bag sold, $5 will be given to NABC for the mission trip fund. Please consider checking out this website and purchasing some excellent fair-trade coffee to enjoy. There are options for you to make a one-time purchase or to sign up to recieve coffee each month. As a side note, you will save on shipping if you purchase more than one bag.

3. Car Detailing ~ Two of the individuals going on the trip (Randy & Alica Myers) are offering the following services on a donation basis.
     ~ Basic Hand Wash & Dry

     ~ Hand Wash, Dry and Wax of your vehicle - includes cleaning your wheels & tires.

     ~ Interior Cleaning includes vacuum interior, clean floor mats, wash inside windows and clean all interior surfaces.
